Anntoinette Johnson Buford Obituary

Anntoinette (Toni) L. Johnson Buford was born to the late Michael E. and Betty L. Johnson in Cincinnati, OH on May 4, 1965. She graduated from Western Hills High School in Cincinnati, OH in 1983. She would go on to marry her loving husband and best friend Major Philip Wade Buford on July 24, 1994. The two of them were a joy to be around, always laughing and smiling no matter the room they entered.

Toni loved to be engaged in activities revolving around her two children Adreana and Philip, volunteering herself in a wide range of activities each were involved in from school related activities, boy and girl scouts, and a variety of sports leagues.

For 14 years, Toni thrived working for one of the largest non-profit healthcare companies, Kaiser Permanente. Toni served as a Lead Medical Records Tech out of the Mid-Atlantic region. Toni’s devotion to her career motivated her to go back to school in 2008 to complete her Associate’s and also her Bachelor’s degree programs, studying health care administration. She thus graduated from American InterContinental University (AIU) in 2009. Toni loved her Kaiser team, considering each member a dear friend and an extension of her family.

Those that know Toni would describe her as a family-oriented woman and she was blessed with a loving family and continuously professed selfless acts of love. “You only get one family in life. Love and be around each other as much as you possibly can.” - words Toni would always vocalize dearly.  A family-oriented woman, she dedicated herself to ensuring each member of her family was taken care of and needed for nothing. Toni was blessed to have one grandchild, Honesti A. Thomas, whom she loved more than anything else in the world and would travel as much as possible to be around after her birth.

Toni is survived by her two loving children: Adreana C. Williams and Philip A. Buford, siblings; Houston K. Barton Jr. Vincent and Krystal Johnson, Angelo Massey, and Yvonne Coleman; her sister-in-law Abby Massey, Dreama Harris, Lorraine Pickrell, Melissa Brunson, Pamela Wilson; her brother-in-law Donald Jones, Gregory Buford, aunts, uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Major Philip W. Buford; brother Michael Massey; and her sister Chanta Johnson Jones.
