Obituary

Betty Jane Tate, also known as Aunt Sissy or Sis. She was born on October 12, 1933, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the union of Clara and Ernest Lewis. She departed this life on November 13, 2025, to be with the Lord.

She grew up in Salyer Park and Addyston, and Delhi. She had a loving family growing up with her mother, father, and sisters, Mary Ann Lewis (Toots), Marguerita Lewis (Rita), and Ernestine Allen (Eren), all of whom have preceded her. She was the last to go home, with family waiting for her arrival.

She attended church at a young age and accepted the Lord into her life. She played piano, liked to sing, and enjoyed hanging out with family and friends.

She attended Hughes High School. She had a variety of jobs, but the best one she had was caring for others. It takes a loving and special person to do that without any complaints. Her faith and love of God kept her going.

She married Matthew Tate at a young age. She didn’t have any children of her own, but nieces, nephews, and cousins were like her children.

She leaves behind her children Daryll, Tonya, Kevin, Michelle, Diane, Bzone, Yolanda, Devaron, (Diedra, who has preceded her), and all of her other children she loved so much.

She will be missed deeply for her kindness, love, and always being there.

Greatly missed but never forgotten.
