William Edward Fluellen affectionately known as “Flu” was born on November 20, 1955, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the union of Mattie Mae Wynn Fluellen and William Ezekiel Fluellen.
William grew up in the West End and Avondale areas of Cincinnati. He was baptized at the Beulah Baptist Church on Linn Street, was educated in Cincinnati Public Schools, and graduated from Robert A. Taft High School. He attended Central State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree.
William’s work history includes working at General Motors, counseling at the Talbert House and painting. He enjoyed the counseling work the most because of the opportunity to help people using his own experiences. William also was an avid reader of religious writings including the Bible, Apocrypha, and Quran, and he and enjoyed discussing (and sometimes vigorously debating) perspectives of teachings with Gerald and Deborah.
At the completion of his assigned earthly time, God approved William’s discharge from this realm on Thursday, August 17, 2023.
William was preceded in death by: his father; mother; siblings, Jimmy Rogers Fluellen and Linda Fluellen White and his long-time partner, Sharon Parks.
He leaves to remember him: three children, Brian Parks, Deyla Fluellen and William E. Fluellen, Jr.; siblings, Deborah A. Fluellen Lewis (John), Gerald K. Fluellen (Traci), Evelyn D. Fluellen, Angela J. Fluellen Stokes, and Wayne V. Fluellen (Tonya); grandchildren, De’Sean, Brianna, Daravia, Cienna, Brooklyn, Coby, Camdyn, and Nalani and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
