Ruth Taylor was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 15, 1932, blessing the life of her mother Daisy Mae Mizell. She departed this life on October 24, 2022 into the arms of the Lord.
Ruth grew up in Cincinnati’s West End community, living in Lincoln Courts and on Mound and John Streets most of her young life. After attending Harriet Beecher Stowe School, she went to work for private families from the age of 17 until she retired. She also worked as a den mother in a sorority house at The University of Cincinnati until she retired in 1986.
She married John Taylor in 1961. She was an amazing woman who raised her children, Carol and Darryl Taylor, and also cared for everyone’s children in the family. She loved to cook, loved to dance and could bless you out like no one’s business. She was a great mother, a great aunt, great- grandmother and a friend to countless of others.
She was preceded in death by her son, Darryl Craig Taylor; husband, John Taylor; mother, Daisy Mae Mizell; her grandfather, Aaron Mizell Sr.; grandmother, Bessie Ophelia Mizell; her uncles, George, Theodore, DeWitt, Aaron Mizell; aunts, Ruby Mizell Marble, Gertrude Mizell; her sister, Armentha Mizell, sister/cousin, Betty Mizell Christopher ; nephews, Arthur Craig Jr. and Nathaniel.
Ruth leaves to mourn her daughter, Carol Stanford; a niece, Donna Marie Mizell; sister, Jeroline Craig; granddaughter, Marvina Nicole Craig and grandson, Lawrence Darnell Craig; great-grandchildren, Damon Stephans, Darryl Craig, Dimetrius Baylor, Diondre Freeman, Corey Craig, Ty-Saish Craig, Ty-Shonna Craig, Sincere Gates, Darnell Craig.
She was also loved by a host of nieces, nephews, great-great grandchildren, family and friends. Special friends to mourn her passing include: Michelle Beamon, Allen Higgins, Albert Loving Jr.., Carole Nixon-Evans.
Ruth Taylor, my mother, you will be honorably and truly missed by everyone, my beautiful queen. I will love you forever, Carol.
