Paul Cecil Turner, Sr. who was affectionately known as "Tito", departed this life on Friday, September 2, 2022 into the arms of our Heavenly Father. He was born on December 10, 1934, the eighth child born to the union of late William Oscar and Lurannie (Nichols) Turner.
Paul united with Carmel Presbyterian at an early where he served faithfully until his health begin to fail. His education begin at Stowe School and later Woodward High School. At the age of 17, he quit school and joined the United States Navy where he served four years. During his tour of duty in the Navy, he served in South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Mexico, Cuba and South America. His most memorable moment was when he dived off Pico de Orizaba into the ocean.
Upon returning from his tour of duty in the Navy, Paul met Ruthie, the love of his life and they were united in marriage for sixty-five wonderful years. To this union was born three children: Paul C., Jr., Richard K. and Tracy L.
Paul worked for Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority from 1960 until 1995 when he retired after 35 years. He was instrumental in organizing the union at CMHA. He served as ASCME president. He loved sports and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bearcats, boxing, basketball and swimming. He was a member of the Ambassador Club who brought entertainers to Cincinnati.
Paul was preceded in death by his son, Richard; his parents; his brothers, Willie Ralph, Harry, Spencer, Jethro, Jack, Alvin and his sisters, Geraldine, Willa Franl He leaves to cherish his memory: Ruthie, his devoted and loving wife; his children, Paul C. Jr., (Roxana) and Tracy (Walter) Maupin; his four grandchildren, Jolice (Joey) Turner, Brandon, Ryan and Paul Gabriel; nine great grandchildren; his in-laws, Robert, Mary, Eliga McGivens and Thelma Ellington.
He will be dearly missed by his special niece, Gwen Lewis, and a host of other nephews, nieces, relatives and friends as well as his special brothers, Oscar (Scobe) and Ronald Richardson and special sister, Marlene Smith.
