Mikael Aveion Sanders was born on July 11, 2008 at 31 weeks old. He spent the first months of his life in the hospital. At 2 years old, he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Mikael's therapy treatment program helped him meet many milestones. At the age of 4, he contracted bacterial meningitis. The meningitis caused a significant amount of brain damage. Mikael still fought to have the best quality of life he could.
Mikael attended school in the Sycamore Community District from grades K-8. He was very social at school and made a lot of friends. He participated in the APE sports league for 7 years. He participated in bowling, swimming, and baseball. Mikael was very bright and excelled in his academics. He attended both general education and special needs classes. He received many academic awards including honor roll, and the President's Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence.
Mikael spent a lot of time with his family. He has been on outings such as skating, camping and many sporting events to support his brothers. He loved fish and has made many trips to the Newport Aquarium. He was very loved by his family and by everyone that cared for him. He passed away unexpectedly on December 30, 2022.
He joins in paradise his brother, Imarion Sanders and his great grandmother, Juanita Williams.
He leaves here to cherish his memory; his parents, William Jr. and Tanea Sanders; his siblings, Imauri, William III, and Tacari Sanders; maternal great grandmother, Katie Nared; paternal grandparents, William Sanders Sr. and Rose Williams; maternal grandparents, Ralph Green and Beverly Green and aunts and uncles, Charlotte Sanders, Dominique Sanders, Chanel Sanders, Crystal Croley, Nicole Green and Rayshawn Green along with many cousins and other relatives and friends who loved him and miss him dearly.
