Howard Duncan Obituary

Mr. Howard Paul Duncan was born on March 11, 1958, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the union of the late Mary Yancy Mccullars and Robert Duncan. He departed this life on May 1, 2023, into the arms of The Lord.

He grew up in a loving family as the only child, where he was the center of attention and smiled daily. During Howard's early years in Cincinnati, he attended South Avondale Elementary, Schwab Middle School, and Aiken High School. It was during this period that Howard felt his calling to serve. So, he decided to enlist in the United States Army. After completing his active duty service, he continued serving in the Army Reserve and took the opportunity to travel and gain perspective on world events with first-hand knowledge.

After Howard's honorable service to the United States, he continued to work hard as a cab driver and various jobs with his best friend, Anthony Alexander Sr., throughout the years. In Howard's later years, his commitment to family and friends never faded. Whenever someone ask:ed for help, he was ready, willing, and able. He would help neighbors clean their yards, wash cars and even go to the store to pick up small or oversized items. Howard didn't flinch at the chance to spend Christmas 2020 with his son's family in Florida. He stated, "That was the best Christmas I have had in years." He took pleasure in serving others.

Howard loved being outside walking, and he would walk everywhere. He knew the streets like the back of his hand. If someone asl<:ed how to get to a place, he would give precise directions to the number of stoplights. If Howard wasn't outside, he wasn't happy.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Christopher (Sonya) O'Bannon, a grand-daughter December Ja O'Bannon, cousins Jeffrey D. Glisson, Thomas Cunningham, Alicia (Kendall) Gault, Eric Johnson, Rhonda Marcotte, special friends Anthony (Cookie) Alexander Sr., Freda Love, Jerry Robinson, Donna O'Bannon and a host of other family friends and relatives.

Eternal rest grant unto them, 0 Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and the soul of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, Rest in Peace. Amen.
To those that knew Howard, our lives were much better knowing him.
