Obituary

In our memories forever as a daughter, mother, sister, aunt and friend, handpicked by God, Ann was delivered to her earthly parents, Willie James and Catherine Green Wheeler on November 28, 1942.

After a lengthy illness God whispered, Ann you cannot with stand this storm.  Majestic wings he gave her to make the flight back home.

On Thursday, July 13, 2023 her wings were ready, and she answered his call on the wings of an Angel as a beautiful butterfly.  Ann whispered; watch closely for a reminder I'll send from above.  I'm with you, there beside you, until we meet again.

Willie Ann known by family as Ann and her friends as "Sweeney," accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at St. James A.M.E. Zion Methodist Church under Pastor Nina Robinson.  She moved her membership to St. Mark A.M.E. Zion Methodist under Pastor T.X. Graham.  Later visiting with a friend, she joined Zion Temple First Pentecostal Church until her health no longer permitted her to attend.  Willie Ann attended Taft High School; a Cincinnati Public School.  Upon her completion she was employed by Children's Hospital as a Dietary Aide until she retired in 2005.

She met and married James R. Sweeney and to this union a daughter was born, Terri Ann who preceded her in death. She leaves not to mourn, but to cherish her memory:  a sister, Mary Wheeler; nephews, James Jr., Jeremy, Jasen, Zajuan, Dae'vorio Johnson, and Dae Brion Conley;  nieces Aneissa, Diarra, Alexis, Justice, Sara, Daenyla, Dae'tor Conley and Payton Wheeler;  bonus family and nieces Angel Pleasure, Chavoca Edrington and the Jones family; devoted friends, Gladys Reynolds, Dorothy Ballock and Roberta Stewart;  caregivers Sequoia, Angie, Keisha, Kendra, Megan, and all the staff at Promedica Hospice of Cincinnati, Ohio  and all those that touched her life in some way.
