William Howard Turnerв?¦A Faithful Son, Brother, Cousin, Uncleв?¦and Friend William Howard Turner was born on October 26, 1937 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Willie Ocie Turner. He departed this life on Saturday, July 16, into the arms of The Lord. William, the oldest of six children, grew up in Cincinnati and attended Stowe School and Woodward High School. He enrolled in the U.S. Air Force and served his country for two years, receiving an honorable charge. He lived in numerous cities and held a variety of jobs. William spent most of his adult life living in Philadelphia as a cook. Family reported that he could cook anything, especially soul food! He loved life, dressing with flair and his family. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Willie and his sister, Margurite Jackson. William leaves to cherish his memory one son, Stephen Knighten; one sister, Bessie Jackson; three brothers, Donald Turner, Charles Turner and Michael Turner special nephew, Sheldon Jackson and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
