IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas W.
Cunningham
May 12, 1976 – January 14, 2024
Thomas Wesley Cunningham, affectionately known as 'Ham', was born on May 12, 1976, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was the second born of three children. Thomas' first 3 years were spent in Winton Terrace, then his family moved to Avondale, where he continued to grow and formed neighborhood and school friendships. He attended Clifton Elementary, Schwab Junior High School, and Aiken Senior High School, where he attended Accounting Vocational training.
In his working years, his first employment was at the Cincinnati Zoo, after that, he worked at the Kroger building in downtown Cincinnati as a security guard. He later worked for Children's and University Hospitals working in environmental maintenance services. He loved his work, but unfortunately, a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis in 2007, resulted in a change from working to focusing on his health. For several years, his loving sister, Alicia, helped with his basic, daily needs, assisting and providing for him the very best she could. He battled with his condition until his decline required professional medical care twenty four hour care every day, thus placement in a nursing facility was necessary.
He was a loving and dedicated father for his family and did all he could to provide for, teach, and raise his children to be responsible and respectful individuals. He loved being around his family and friends, having fun, cutting up, making everyone laugh, enjoying a cold beer, watching his favorite teams (Cincinnati Reds, Chicago Bulls, and Kansas City Chiefs), barbecuing on the grill, listening to hip-hop, playing basketball, spades, dominoes, and playing games on his PlayStation.
He was preceded in death by: parents, Tommy & Brenda Cunningham; aunts, Mary McCullars and Ollie A. Glisson; uncles, Charles Cunningham, Roger Cunningham and Michael L. Glisson; cousins, Howard Duncan and William C. Anderson.
