Obituary

Meta Ann Beasley, daughter of the late Rev. Clarence Norris Sr. and Mamie Melba Norris, was born on June 5, 1957 in Albany, Georgia.  She departed this life suddenly on July 30, 2024 after a brief illness.

She attended schools in Dougherty County as a young girl before moving to Cincinnati with her family, where she continued her education in Cincinnati Public Schools.  Meta accepted Christ, under the leadership of her father Rev. Clarence Norris Sr., at a young age.  In 1979 she married Frankie James Beasley Sr.  Their union was blessed with two children, Tomeko and Frankie Jr.   Frank James Beasley Sr. preceded her in death in July of 2020.

Meta worked alongside her mother Mamie as a chef at the former P.A. Adderley's restaurant.  She earned a reputation for being an "amazing" cook, which followed her throughout her life.  She then went on to work for Kelco Industries for the U.S. military, reading and making blueprints.

Meta was known for her laughter and beautiful smile.  She was also blessed with a wonderful sense of humor and the ability to make everyone laugh because of the things she would say…out of nowhere.  She influenced everyone she touched throughout her life's journey and her spirit will be missed…forever.

She was preceded in death by her father, Rev. Clarence Norris Sr. and mother, Mamie Melba Norris; sister, Caroly Norris; brothers, Timothy, Michael, Clarence Jr. and Conna Norris.

Her beautiful, joyful life will be cherished by her children, Tomeko Bashawn (Christopher) White and Frankie James Beasley Jr., all of Cincinnati; four grandchildren, Samantha, Dayna, Duante and Amare, all of Cincinnati; three great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Scott, Jascion Kelly Phipps, Zaiden Malone; life partner and significant other, Kevin Owens of Cincinnati; five sisters, Ruby (Rev. Booker T.)  Batten of Albany, GA., Wanda Norris of Cincinnati, Mary (Terry) McKinney, Melvinda (Bernard) Tarleton of Cleveland, OH, Victona (Teo) Blassingame of Atlanta, GA.; brother, Allen (Hilda) Shine of Albany, GA.  She will also be dearly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.
