Celebrating Her Spirit Lottie Mae Enoch Walters, 97, was born on August 5, 1924 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was the eldest of three children born to the union of Elizabeth (Lizzie) Weems and Charles Enoch. She departed this life on April 12, 2022 into the arms of The Lord. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at First Antioch Baptist Church by the late Reverend W.H. Williams. She was a product of Cincinnati Public Schools and a graduate of Woodward High School. She received a Bachelor of Science and Masters in Education degrees from The University of Cincinnati. Lottie was a dedicated educator for 33 years and dedicated herself to her church and community throughout her life. In 1953, Lottie married Henry Lee Walters, whom she had known since high school. The Walters enjoyed 32 years as a happy couple until his death in 1985. Although no children were born to their union, Lottie and Henry volunteered their time and talents to the youth of the Melrose Y.M.C.A. Lottie served as president of First Antioch Missionary Society for more than 50 years, where she was also active on the usher board. She taught at Columbian, Parham and North Avondale Elementary Schools. She also taught at Oakley-Madisonville and Anderson Place School Districts. She completed her teaching career at Quebec Heights before retiring. She was a life-time member of the Ohio Retired Teachers Association and The Hamilton County Retired Teachers. She had ties to numerous civic organizations. As a member of the Cosmopolitan Club, she traveled the world and participated in multiple civic activities. She served as the COM of the Melrose Y.M.C.A. as well as a member of the Y.M.C.A. Men's and Women's Service Club. Lottie was also an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, serving as president of the Cincinnati Chapter from 1976 to 1978. She served in the Cincinnati Alumnae Chapter as well as the Zeta Chapter. Lottie was a member of The Metro International, The Evanston Community Advisory Board and The Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Walters and her brothers, Charles Jr. and James Enoch. She leaves to cherish her memory her aunt Alberta Sims; nieces, Cassandra Enoch Mitchell, Antoinette King, Elizabeth Enoch, Charlotte Enoch, Angela Enoch, Alison Enoch (Douglas) Morris; sister-in-law, Margaret Enoch great nieces Chanel V. Sandlin and Charolette M. Waller .
