Obituary

Celebrating Her Spirit Linda Lorraine Nash was born on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1949 in Yazoo City, Mississippi to the union of Lottie Mae Harris and Benjamin Harris. She departed this life on June 16, 2022 into the arms of The Lord. She grew up in Cincinnati,'s West End community and graduated from Robert A. Taft High School in 1967. During her high-school years, she was known as "Lynn." Linda participated in Y-teens at Taft and was a member of the health careers club. Upon graduating from high school, she secured a stable job with U.S. Playing Cards, where she worked for over a decade. Linda's strong work-ethic created a legacy of independence, proving that hard-work pays off in the end. She instilled those values in her daughter, Necole and her four grandchildren, Meneshia, Adnila, E.J. and Kayla. Linda worked her entire adult life as a blue-collar worker. She never complained about any work task nor did she run away from a tough assignment. When she wasn't working, Linda, a "foodie" by nature, loved to eat at great restaurants and to travel. Her favorite destination was New Orleans, where she indulged in her love of seafood …especially crab legs, lobster and shrimp. Her all time favorite meal was a T-bone steak, baked potato and salad. She knew how to enjoy the fruits of her labor. She loved to decorate her home and enjoyed having family holiday gatherings at her home. She always played the famous "Please come home for Christmas," by Charlie Brown and put up her traditional 8-foot tall white Christmas tree up every year. She established a tradition of displaying a white tree and changing the color scheme of the decorations every year. Her other tradition was keeping an array (every color imaginable) of nail polish in the refrigerator. Her grand daughters, when they were younger, used the polish to paint their nails and Linda's. It was their special tradition. They also ate all the ice cream and candy that they could stomach. She made them breakfast in the microwave because she was not a fan of cooking. However she did master the art of grilling. Steak was her specialty and she introduced it to her grandchildren at an early age. She also introduced them to church at an early age and bribed them with candy to sit still and be quiet. She never drove on the expressway, which resulted in a 10 minute trip turning into 45 minutes. We cherished that time. Linda was preceded in death by both parents, Lottie and Benjamin; her siblings, Kevin, Harris, BaeBae Harris and Benjamin Harris, Jr. Linda will be forever cherished and loved by her only child, Necole Harris; four grandchildren, Meneshia Harris, Adnila Harris, (Linda spelled backwards with an "a" at the end, Eric Smith, Jr., and Kayla Smith; six great grandchildren, J'Niayh Harris, Jayzen Harris, Anthony Jones, Devin Martin, Tariq Kirtley and Shariff Kirtley; her siblings, Puma Jones, Ava Harris, Sharon Harris, Debbie Harris, Myra Harris and Donnie Harris; Cemetery Details Vine Street Hill Cemetery 3701 Vine Street Cincinnati, OH 45220 Loading map Previous Events Visitation for Family JUL 6. 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM (ET) Renfro Funeral Service Inc 647 Forest Avenue Cincinnati, OH 45229 renfrofuneralservices@gmail.com Loading map Service JUL 6. 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM (ET) Renfro Funeral Service Inc 647 Forest Avenue Cincinnati, OH 45229 renfrofuneralservices@gmail.com Loading map
