Remembering the Life and Spirit Of Lessie Mae Gay April 26, 1933-January 29, 2024

Cares all past, home at last, ever to rejoice.

Lessie Mae was born on April 26, 1933 in Jenkinsburg, Georgia to Troy and Lola Moore.

She worked for 32 years for the Episcopal Retirement Homes at the Deupree House in Cincinnati Ohio.  She was married to Willie H. Edwards for 31 years and from that union they had nine children.  She later married Curtis Gay for whom she was married to for 39 years. Curtis gave her a different life. A good life. Curtis preceded her in death.

Two of Lessie's children, Priscella Edwards and Rajetta Edwards also preceded her in death.

She leaves seven children to cherish her memories: Melinda Edwards, Tria Marie Edwards, Vicki (Evelyn) Pringle, Willie H. Edwards Jr., Jylina (Jan) Edwards, Rueben Edwards, and Sabrina Edwards. 25 grandchildren (two preceded her in death), 31 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren; her brother Al Moore; sisters, Tommie Lewis, Pearl (Herbert) Bradshaw, and Gwendolyn Moore, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
