Obituary

Kevin Glenn Williams was born on November 1, 1978, in Cincinnati, OH to young, unskilled parents, Alice M. Williams and Glenn Oates on a blustery, record breaking winter day. He was a very sickly child, often requiring trips to Children's Hospital in respiratory distress. As a young mother, I was given much aide from my mother and family to reassure Kevin's health needs were met.

Kevin grew up to be a dependable, hardworking man who also took on some extra work to assure our little family was secure. As a single mother, I utilized the Big Brothers organization to assist in building the skills he'd need to be a successful man. He soon got a little sister (Ebony) which he took seriously in caring for both of us as the only male in our home.

Kevin attended Aiken high school. To increase his financial security, he dropped out of high school and began working full time. Then, a few years later, he successfully completed his GED. He wanted to show his daughters that education is important.

During high school, he met a beautiful young lady in anatomy class, his spouse-to-be, Angela Greene. After continually passing love notes in class, they eventually became close friends; close enough to form a nearly 30 year relationship and create three children (Sierra, Ashanti, and Nadia Williams) and one angel baby (Kevin Williams, Jr.).

Kevin's work was all about that grind. He worked the majority of his life as a butcher. You may think this job is quite simple. But, it's physically, mentally, and emotionally draining. Despite the hard work and long hours, he maintained a positive outlook, cracking jokes with a smile on his face. He showed his children the true meaning of grit.

His hobbies and skills were gaming, cooking, and enjoying music. He was such a game-head that he camped out all night just to get the newest PlayStation 2. He learned cooking from one the greatest cooks, his grandmother, the late Gentry, "Mama Bit Williams". At this time I'm thinking of his famous chili. Lastly, he was a music lover. He could "Sang" even when there was no music playing! I'm gonna miss singing with him about random things that come to mind. We were unstoppable, throwing our bars.

His personality was friendly, big hearted, and protective. He was friendly to everyone and he had this type of aura that welcomed strangers. Even though he was a bigger person than most and could seem quite intimidating on the outside, he had the biggest heart. His heart always showed as he played with his grandson Levi. His eyes shone so brightly because he finally got the boy he wanted. But, don't underestimate him. When it came to the people he loved, he would fight until his last breath to protect them. ❤

Among those mourning Kevin's passing away are his spouse, Angela Greene, daughters Sierra, Ashanti (Noah Kitts), and Nadia Williams; his mother, Alice Williams; his little grand-dude, Levi Kitts; sister, Ebony Williams and a host of cousins, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
