IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Karen
Johnson
August 25, 1956 – May 25, 2024
Karen "Chocolate Johnson was born on August 25, 1956 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Mary Walker and James Lindsay. Karen fell asleep in death on May25, 2024.
She grew up in Cincinnati and attended Cincinnati Public Schools. Following her education, Karen married Norris Johnson, who preceded her in death. Throughout her life, Karen was passionate about singing and dancing. Her love of dancing inspired her to join The Modern Dance Club at Samuel Ach Junior High School.
Her hobbies also centered on the arts. She enjoyed painting, drawing and word-search books. She was also a very good cook. And her cooking skills allowed her to work for a variety of local restaurants, often as the "head" cook. At holiday time, Karen cooked a meal fit for a king…her children and family. She was always the life of the party and enjoyed making jokes to make people laugh. Her laugh was contagious to anyone nearby. During her days in the nursing home she would brag, "I have these aides and nurses cracking up over here in this nursing home."
Karen was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Walker and her father, James Lindsay; her husband, Norris Johnson; two sisters, Janie Crosby and Lucinda Jones and one brother, Billy Lindsay.
She leaves to cherish her love and memory her two daughters, Marlenea Walker and Latasha (Ardell) Trusty; two sons, James and Mario Johnson; 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Gwen Smith, Glozie (Edward) Jackson, Sharon Walker; two brothers, her twin, Calvin (Cynthia) Walker and Gary Lee Walker. She will also be dearly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
