James Dion Johnson, better known to his friends and loved ones as Corn, was born on January 11, 1980 to Anita L. Johnson and James L. Hudson (deceased) both of Newport, KY. Corn was called home on August 19, 2015. Corn was preceded in death by his grandmother Mary L. Battle and great grandmother Louise Harrison.Corn, who was born and raised in Newport, KY, was a stranger to no one. He would often be seen walking his dog, "G-Man" and playing outside with the kids. Regardless of what he had going on in his life, he was always encouraging those around him (especially his nieces, nephews and cousins) to do better, reach for the stars, and to let nothing stand in the way of their goals.Corn was also the neighborhood comedian. There was never a dull moment around Corn, his giggle and his jokes along with his ability to speak his mind no matter the situation could have a person crying with laughter for days. James Dion Johnson, a.k.a Corn, touched the lives of the entire community of Newport and surrounding areas in every way, shape or form. Whether you are family, went to school with him, knew him from the streets, received a puppy from him or just seen him pass by while walking his dogs, he touched you in some way. Corn will truly be missed, but his spirit will live on forever. Corn leaves behind to cherish his memory three daughters and a son; Shakayla Lynne, Jayonna Neveah Renee, Khaliya LaShaye and G-Man (his beloved dog that he referred to as his son). He also leaves behind his mother, Anita L. Johnson; grandparents Edward Johnson (Jennifer), Bernice S. Greene and Eugene Rice (Sonball); sisters Elizabeth, Tameka, and Jalyssa; brothers, Maurice, James (a.k.a. Man) and James.
