September 20, 1942 – November 7, 2024
Jacqueline Cleota Keenon, 82yrs, went to sleep in transition to be with her Lord and Savior on November 7, 2024, in Cincinnati, OH surrounded by her daughter Monica, spiritual daughter Kimberly, and Pastor Delores.
Jackie was born on September 20, 1942 to Jasper and Harriett (Callahan) Carter in Cleveland, OH. She attended Cleveland Public Schools. After graduating from John Hay High School, Jackie married Melvin Keenon, Sr., March 26, 1961, and to this union came Melvin Keenon, Jr. and Monica Keenon. Later, Jackie began to work at the United States Postal Service, where she retired in 1999. After retirement, Jackie moved to Ashtabula County for a few years, where she was the caregiver of her mother. Jackie loved to travel on cruise ships, visit local cultural places in Ashtabula County, and go to State Casinos where her nephew's band was showcased. Jackie also loved to serve the needy with food and personal items, as well as support St. Jude Hospital. She never met a stranger.
After the untimely transition of her son, Jackie moved to Cincinnati, OH where she resided with her daughter. Mother Jackie joined Overflow Ministries Covenant Church (OMCC), grew in Christ, and participated with great joy in the senior ministry where she was loved sending all occasion cards and making friendly calls to OMCC members, and other seniors. Mother Jackie had a spiritual family that she cherished and a group of seniors whom she drew strength from and loved her dearly.
Mother Jackie is survived by her loving and caring daughter, Monica Cheryl, loving stepsister Willa Mae Jackson, fond grandson, Malcolm Isaiah Keenon, beloved sisters- in- law, Mary Ann Carter (Ronald) and Rosalind Draft (Gregory), Aunt Tabitha Richmond (Callahan), Uncle Timothy Callahan, and a host of nieces/nephews, cousins, family and friends.
