IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Idris
Gray
August 13, 1981 – February 23, 2025
On the 13th day of August in the year of 1981, Idris Mustafa Naeem Gray was placed in Jameel's and Sheila Thomas' loving care…where he remained for 43 years until his timely transition on Feb 23, 2025.
Throughout his life, Idris was a loving, giving and spiritual man. He always went above and beyond for people he cared for within his family and the surrounding community…especially Avondale, where he was a long-time resident. He graduated from Withrow University High School in 1999 where he was a devoted "Tiger" and active in a multitude of organizations and hobbies.
Idris loved, loved and loved his family…Mother, Father, Grandma and "Big Time Granddaddy." He also loved and adored his sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and his best friend Amber and her children. He was always studious, which helped him excel in school as a youngster and to eventually earn him membership in the Young Scholars Program. The program, still in existence, is dedicated to helping young, academically advanced students acquire financial assistance to attend college.
After his graduation from Withrow, Idris continued his education at The Ohio State University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts. Idris had a broad knowledge in African studies, metaphysics, quantum physics and numerology, all of which brought on his vast universal approach to life, which he shared through his pod cast. After graduating from The Ohio State University, he embraced life and shared his knowledge with his community. His greatest life accomplishments include teaching, advocacy and working as an inspirational speaker. He was also an accomplished author, scholar and a performing comedian. He was truly renaissance man.
He transitioned out of his earthly body, leaving his family and a community of friends to celebrate and cherish his memory: his parents, Jameel and Sheila Gray; siblings, Tauheed, Imani (Cordaro), Shadeed (Sade) Jamila. He will also be forever cherished by his aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and countless friends he touched throughout his journey.
