"A Time to be Born" Helen Patricia (Todd) Ellis-Sims was born on March 12, 1948 in Addyston, Ohio to James William Todd and Ruby L. (Todd) Moody. Pat, the youngest of two children, was preceded in death by both of her parents.
"A Time to Live" Pat started her education at Addyston Elementary School. At the age of six, she moved with her family to Cincinnati, Ohio, settling in the Evanston community. She finished her education in The Cincinnati Public School system, graduating from Withrow High School in June, 1966. She continued her education at The Ohio University in Athens, Ohio for a short time. After returning home from college, Pat started her career at the Procter & Gamble Co., where she held numerous positions. She retired from Procter's Governor's Hill location after 31 years of dedicated service.
Pat confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at Bethlehem Baptist Church, under the pastorate of the late Rev. L.R. Mitchell. On November 6, 1988, Pat and her children united with Corinthian Baptist Church, under the pastorate of Rev. Kazava Smith. Pat was an active member of the "Voices of Corinthian," and served as chairperson of the Deaconess Board for a number of years. She continued to serve as a deaconess after a new chairperson was assigned. She was a faithful member of Corinthian for 37 years.
On March 1, 1973, Pat married Kelley West of Hazelhurst, Miss. and moved to Fayetteville, N.C. where he was stationed at Fort Bragg. To this union two children were born, Kimberly Anne and Kelley Patrick West.
On June 20, 1992, Pat entered into Holy Matrimony with Tommie C. Ellis of Cincinnati, Ohio. He went from labor to reward on October 5, 2008, after a lengthy illness. Pat entered Holy Matrimony on May 27, 2011, with John Louis Sims of Cincinnati, Ohio
"A Time to Die" On May 10, 2025, Helen (Pat) Ellis-Sims went from Labor to Reward, to be with her Saviour, in a home so far beyond the sky.
"A Time to Mourn" Pat leaves an abundance of love and memories to be shared by all who knew her. Forever keeping her love in their hearts is her husband, John Sims; her loving children, Kimberly and Kelly West, Michelle Ellis-Eakins, Chris Ellis, Eric Bouyer and Juan Sims, all of Cincinnati; her brother, Mark W. (Tami) Todd; brother-in-law, Marvin Sims; sisters-in-law, Juanita Anderson and Ozella Sims; stepbrother, Charles Payne; 13 grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; two other special children in her life whom she loved very much, Tyrone and Tanisha Johnson. Her memory will also be treasured by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins also with the West family of Hazelhurst, Miss; the Ellis family of Wetumpka, Gadsen, AL, Chicago, IL and Cincinnati, Ohio and her "GIRLS," and very special "sisters," Danise Shepard Johnson, Sandra Bell-Branham and Victoria Thwreatt Reese
