Celebrating Her Spirit Gail Elaine Logan Davis was born on January 9, 1944, to the late Harold John Logan and the late Amelia Edna Scurry Logan, In Cincinnati, Ohio. She went on to pursue her Master's Degree in Education, with a specialty as a Reading Specialist. Gail was initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Sigma Omega Chapter here in Cincinnati, where she was pinned by Amelia and Linda. She enjoyed working on committees, attending new initiate shows at Xavier with Linda, going to regional conferences, and wearing her Sorority paraphernalia. In 1985 Gail moved to Houston, Texas, followed by Howie for an elementary school teaching position. After 15 years there, she returned to Cincinnati in 2000, where she continued to teach until she retired from fulltime teaching. Retiring from full-time teaching did not stop Gail from continuing to teach; she substitute taught at her favorite schools, tutored three of Linda's grandchildren as young children, and she also worked with children at a daycare center when she wasn't subbing. Over 50 years ago, Gail was instrumental along with her sister and a few of her "besties" in starting a Dinner Group that convenes twice a year in the summer and during Christmas. As of 2022, the Dinner Group is enjoying its 51st year of convening. In 2004, Gail joined the Cincinnati Chapter of Chums, Incorporated and enjoyed selling tickets to their Annual Gospel Jazz Fundraisers annually to her close friends. She became an Emeritus member in 2018 until her passing. One thing that Gail loved to do was talk, talk, talk. . whether it be in person or by phone. She never tired of a good conversation with her best buddies routinely, sometime every- day at the same time. She loved to travel, particularly to visit her grandchildren, Brooke and Major. Gail also enjoyed playing cards with friends in Park Lane Apartments on the weekends. She was also an avid reader in her spare time, particularly romance novels and working puzzles. Walking in the neighborhood was also an enjoyment for her. Cooking was never her specialty, but you could always count on her to bring soda pop and chips. Gail was a loyal and faithful member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church since she was baby and confirmed at age 12, for 66 years. She served as an Usher for several years and enjoyed working on the Church Pastoral Search Committee several years ago. Gail was preceded in death by her parents.
