Obituary

Etta Mae Williams, 87, was born on Oct. 2, 1926 to the union of William and Georgia (Gaiter) Shannon in East Mulga, Alabama. She departed this life to be with The Lord on March 31, 2014. Etta grew up in Alabama and moved to Cincinnati to marry the late Arthur Williams. God blessed their union with three sons, Eddie, Lee and Johnny Williams. She joined Galilee Baptist Church in the 1950s, where she worshipped until her health prevented her from attending. She worked as a custodian for many years at Mother of Mercy High School, retiring in 1991. Etta loved to cook for her family and was an avid canner. Etta, who was a strong, loving woman, faithfully attended Galilee Baptist Church, where she was a member of the former Progressive Club and the Pastor's Aide Society. Etta was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; parents, William and Georgia Shannon; sisters, Mattie Colefield, Jessie Lee Clark and Ada Williams. Her loving spirit will forever be cherished by her sons, Eddie (Joyce) Williams, Lee J. (Clover) Williams and Johnny (Jennifer) Williams; sister, Margaret Moore; three grandchildren, Eddie Williams Jr., Lee N. Williams, Tashina Mason; great-grandchildren, Miles and Tyler Williams, Anihsa M.
