Elder Irene L. Hill

October 20, 1942 — February 8, 2026

Elder Irene Leonora Hill was born on October 20, 1942, in Havana, Cuba, to the blessed union of Leonard G. Reid and Beryl D. Reid. She departed this life on February 8, 2026, leaving a legacy of unconditional love, faith and service.

She migrated to the United States in 1952 with her parents and siblings, in search of new opportunities and a promising future. In August 1957, she proudly became a naturalized citizen of the United States.

She received her education through the Cincinnati Public School system, attending the former Columbian Elementary School, Samuel Ach Junior High Schools, and graduating from Hughes High School. During her school years, she was actively involved in various clubs and excelled in volleyball. She was a student at Samuel Ach Junior High School when she met her future husband, Benjamin Hill. They were later married and were blessed with three children, Benjamin, Tina and Michael.

Elder Irene built her life upon two unwavering foundations… her deep love for her family and her steadfast faith in The Lord. Having professed Christ as her Savior at a young age, she carried her faith with her throughout her life. As an adult, she became a devoted and long-time member of Carmel Presbyterian Church, where she faithfully served and was ordained as an Elder by the late Reverend Clarence Wallace. Her commitment to ministry, service, and spiritual leadership left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Professionally, Irene dedicated over 30 years of service to Avon Products in Springdale, Ohio, where she worked diligently as a machine operator and later as a supervisor until her retirement. Her strong work ethic, leadership and integrity were evident in every role she held.

Elder Irene was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Leonard G. Reid and Beryl D. Reid; her brother, Leonardo E. Reid; brother-in-law, Charles Neal and niece, La’Jeania (GiGi) Reid and Benjamin Hill.

She leaves to cherish her memory and to continue her legacy her loving children: Benjamin T. Hill; Tina R. Hill Stivender and Michael L.(Priscila) Hill; her devoted sister, Lucrecia D. Neal; seven cherished grandchildren, Tamon D. Stivender, Brittany R. Stivender, Jordan L. Hill, Donovan M. Hill, Xavier A. Hill, Baron I. Hill, and Madison N. Hill; four treasured great-grandchildren, Ta’Majah R. Stivender, Ta’Mon D. Stivender Jr., Londyn R. Hawkins, and Aubrey R. Hawkins. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and dear friends, whose lives were richly blessed by her love, wisdom, and grace.

Elder Irene’s life was a testimony of faith, resilience, service, and unconditional love. Her presence was a blessing, her guidance a gift, and her legacy will continue to shine through generations to come.
