CINCINNATI - Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, for Douglas White. He died Nov. 16, at the age of 52. Doug was the youngest child of the late Robert and Jean (Rieselman) White of Colerain Township. Born April 15, 1966 with Down Syndrome, he survived major surgery as an infant and grew to be a source of joy to those who touched his life. Doug was a cheerful, gregarious and unfailingly polite guy with an easy smile and a sly sense of humor. Though his vocabulary was limited, he seldom failed to communicate effectively with those he encountered. He is survived by three sisters, Beth White, Jerri (Jim) Paoletti and Ann (Steve) Wagner; brothers Tom White and Bob White; as well as many relatives and friends and his "second family" of roommates and caregivers at his group home in Deer Park. The family wishes to extend special appreciation to caregivers at Ohio Valley Residential Services and JVS Career Services, to Len and Carol Quinn and their family, and to the staff at Indian Springs Nursing Home and Hospice of Southwest Ohio who cared for Doug during his final days. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Church, 5361 Dry Ridge Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45252, with visitation at the church starting at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Bevis Cedar Grove Cemetery.
