Obituary

Celebrating Her Spirit . . . . Donna Jean Ford was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on February 4, 1955. She was the beloved daughter of Helen and William Ford. Donna departed this life on October 17, 2016. Donna graduated from Walnut Hills High School and attended The University of Cincinnati. She joined Calvary United Methodist Church, formerly located in Evanston, as a young child. Donna was an active member of Calvary UMC from early childhood. She was a life member of The Anna Howard Matthew Choir, sitting between her Grandmother Annie B. Grinter and Great-Aunt Sarah Means, from the time she was about eight years old. Donna was always active with The United Methodist Women and at one time served as the church bus driver. She was also a part of UMW Circle #No 1 (Happy Seniors). Donna assisted with preparing dinners once a month for seniors. She was known for her baked chicken. She was also a part of UMW Circle No. 9 (Renegade Circle) Young Women with Forward Thinking Ideas. At Calvary Hilltop UMC of North College Hill, Donna was vice president of United Methodist Women. In that position she did programming as her health permitted. Donna loved reading the bible and attending bible study on a regular basis. Donna's favorite scriptures were: Isaiah 40:28-31, Ecclesiastes 3:1-9, Exodus 23:25, and Psalm 107 20-22. Donna was an employee of University Hospital as a Health Unit Coordinator for 30 years. She spent many years working on the psychiatric unit and had great knowledge for that work. Donna loved to read books, watch movies, cook, plant flowers, travel whenever possible and spend time with family and friends. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, William and Helen Ford; her grandmother, Annie B. Grinter and her brother, Darrick Moore. She leaves to celebrate her homegoing her brothers, Reginald Moore and Mark Moore ; nephew, Darrick Moore; best friend ,Terri Lucas; God-daughters, Lauren Lucas- Baynes and Dominique Lucas; special cousins, William Means, Muhjah Hasan, Janice Fegan, Michelle Means-Walker, Renee Dixon, Terri Coleman, Alva Means and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
