Daryel Samuel Jones was born December 18, 1954 in Cincinnati, OH to Henry and Clara Jones (nee' Porter).  The youngest of eight children; six brothers and 1 sister, Daryel was active, creative and good with his hands. Growing up in the community of Cumminsville, he attended Garfield Elementary and Heinold Junior High Schools.

In 1975, Daryel gave his life to Christ and later became an ordained minister of the gospel.  He was consummate student, avid reader and entrepreneur.  In the early 80's, Daryel became a licensed cosmetologist, first working for Elder Bearman Department Store until he set his heights on bigger dreams.  In 1987, he opened his own salon, "LaSam'u'L" in Golf Manor, a city in Cincinnati, OH.  His business slogan was "Where anointed hands are in operation."  Daryel also loved fashion and wanted to show his royal status at all times.  So much so, he and his longtime friend and brother, Benny Fluellen opened, "Kings" Mens Clothing Store in the 90's.  He later became an Interior Designer with a degree from Antonelli College.  Even upon retirement in 2011, Daryel stayed busy.  He served as a member of New Nazarene Baptist Church and worked for Cincinnati Public Schools as a teacher's aide until his untimely death in August 2022.  He was working on his 10th publication at the time of his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, father, Pastor Henry Jones and mother, Clara Jones; brothers, Carl Madden, James Madden, Aleric Pool, Thomas Pool, Lawrence Pool and Walter Jones.

Daryel will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.  He leaves to cherish his beloved big sister and best friend, Lavenia Battle and a host of family and friends.
