Cynthia Anderson was born on November 14, 1948 in Tampa, Florida, to the union of Netta Coleman-Anderson and Lorenza "Jake" Anderson. She departed this life on Monday morning, May 28, 2017, at The Jewish-Mercy Hospital, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Cynthia, affectionately called "Cynt," by close family and friends, was the second of five children. She grew up in Tampa, where she attended public school. Cynthia gave her life to Christ as a young woman. She worked tirelessly in many ministries in and outside of the church.
She loved sports and was an avid athlete throughout her youth and well into her adulthood. During her high school years, Cynthia was a dominant basketball and softball player, often playing right alongside the boys. As a teenager, she was asked to play with "The Angels," the local women's softball team in Tampa. Cynthia, a key team player, helped the Angels win several national championships. She graduated from Middleton Senior High School in 1966.
While in Tampa, Cynthia worked at General Telephone & Electric (GTE) as a supervisor, and was an executive secretary for Anglin Maintenance prior to moving to Cincinnati in 1987. Upon arriving in Cincinnati, she enrolled in Southern Ohio College, and received her Associates degree in Communications. She then began working for Jergens Company and then several years later Patheon pharmaceuticals.
Cynt was very compassionate, very loving and unpretentious.
As a niece, Cynthia was just like a sister.
As a sister, Cynthia was dedicated, supportive, loving, caring and decisive.
As an aunt, Cynthia was involved, family-oriented, no nonsense, blunt and secretly sensitive.
And as a friend, Cynthia was funny, "straight-up", and a true-true friend to the end.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents, along with her brother, James Patrick Coleman.
She leaves to celebrate her life her only sister, Alalia Anderson-Mack (Waymond); her brothers, Naji "Ken" Aalim and Angus Anderson; her aunts, Grace Coleman-Anglin, Doris Coleman-Williams, Mary Coleman -Lundy; her nieces, Early B. Coleman, LaTonya K. Anderson, Cynthia Coleman-Robinson (Derek), Jamila Mack-King, Dr. Yejide S. Mack and Eboni Anderson; her nephews, Lorenzo K. Anderson II, Aswad A. Mack (Christina); close friends, Roma Lee and Mary Adkins, Linda Bryant, Jerrod Walker, Joe Wilborn, Betty Shaw, Doris Harrell, and Mena Wilson; She will also be dearly missed by a host of cousins, great nieces and nephews and many other beloved friends and neighbors.
