THE OBITUARY A Brief Look Into the Abbreviated Life of Christa Raquel Williams Christa entered this life March 19, 1970 in Detroit, Michigan. A delightful little child, she was always known for her big smile and for calling all either "mama," "daddy," "grandma," or "grandpa." Even into adult life she remained the same. Born with challenges, she yet faced life bravely and with that same big smile. At the age of nine Christa received Jesus Christ into he life and was baptized by her pastor and granduncle, the late Rev. W.W. William at the Williams Chapel Baptist Church in Detroit. She was educated in the schools of Detroit until she moved to Little Rock, graduating in 1987 from Mills High School. She became a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of her father, Rev. C. Dennis Edwards I in 1982. Upon moving to Cincinnati, she became a member of the Southern Baptist Church. Christa departed this life Monday, March 28, 2016. She leaves to mourn her release her children, Carlos (Flowers) Williams, Stanley, Michael, Corley, Christian, Camille, Hope and Jeremiah Williams; three grandchildren; her parents, Mrs. Corley Edwards and Rev. C. Dennis Edwards I (Little Rock, AR), Robert Canady (Detroit, MI); maternal grandmother, Mrs. Harnether Gambrell (Detroit, MI); siblings Rev. C. Dennis Edwards II (Oakland, CA), Angelique Edwards, Rev. Booker Edwards, Carmen Edwards, Eve Edwards (Little Rock, AR) Sheila Ellis [Terry] (San Antonio, TX), Mary Ann Caver (Spokane, WA), and Karen Beaver [Brian] (Detroit, MI); aunts, Vanessa Rogers (Detroit, MI), Mary Edwards (Little Rock), Gloria (Johnny) Seymore (Houston, TX); uncle Willie (Betty) Canady (Detroit, MI), a host of grand aunts, grand uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
