Carol Williams…celebrating her spirit
Carol Williams was born on January 8, 1939 in Cincinnati, Ohio , to the union of Aretha and John Williams. She departed this life, after 83 years of a full and joyful life, on July 1, 2022 into the arms of The Lord.
Carol, the second of three Williams children, attended Bloom Elementary School, followed by Taft High School. She graduated from Taft High School in 1957 and furthered her education at Knoxville College, Knoxville, Tenn. Carol majored in voice during her college years. She was a member of The First New Shiloh Baptist Church, under the late Pastor M.J. Mangham. Her beautiful soprano voice brought spiritual healing on Sundays...especially her rendition of the church favorite, "Jesus Will. "
She held a variety of jobs throughout her working career. Carol worked for the Walnut Hills Evanston Medical Center for 23 years as the medical records supervisor. When the center closed, she went to work part time at Value City. She was assigned to The Hamilton County Mental Health Board as a temporary employee. Her skill and personality turned the temporary placement into a 10-year permanent position. To the surprise of her employer, she was in her 70s at the time she was hired. She retired from the board in 2020.
When Carol retired, she spent her time doing what she loved…shopping, going to dances and decorating her Skyline Acres ranch home. She also loved to play Pokeno with friends.
She loved life…and people loved her in return. Carol was fun loving , loved to laugh, to shop and loved to clean house. She kept her affairs as well as her spotless house in order.
She preceded in death by her mother Ardell in 1969; her father John in 2000; her grandmother, Leona Dunkin in 1997 and her grandfather, Will Dunkin in 1981.
Carol leaves to cherish her memory her devoted sister Pamela Williams, who she lovingly nicknamed "The Pest" and her brother, John M Williams Jr. She also leaves a nephew, a niece and a host of cousins and a lifetime of friends. Previous Events Visitation JUL 15.
