Beverly Dianne Blair was born on February 18, 1943, to the union of James and Priscilla Leww, both of whom preceded her in death. Dianne was called home to be with our Lord on January 15, 2026.
Dianne was united in a loving marriage to Robert Vincent Blair. Their union was one of deep love and devotion until his passing in 1995.
Raised in Cincinnati’s West End, Dianne was grounded in her faith from an early age. As a child she attended St. Joseph Catholic School, and worshipped at St. Joseph Catholic Church. She graduated from OLA – Our Lady of Angels Catholic High School which is where her strong sense of discipline, faith, and purpose began to flourish. She was a current member at Mother of Christ.
Dianne dedicated her professional life to serving others. She began her career at the Cerebral Palsy Center, where she taught children who had multiple disabilities; educating and caring for them. Her commitment to faith-centered service led her to become the first Black Woman employed by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati in the Office of Religious Education. In this historic role, she faithfully served the Church and its mission. Throughout her career she worked as parish secretary for both St. Augustine and St. clare parishes. She retired from St. Clare in 2000.
Dianne loved to dress, loved music and loved to play cards. She was always impeccable dressed and known for her style. She loved to sing and once won first prize at the Regal Theater for her rendition of *Ava Maria*. Her love for music filled her home and her heart. As a teenager, she often rocked her siblings to sleep while listening to her radio. Her record collection was extensive, and later in life she joyfully embraced technology, using her Alexa Echo Plus to request her favorite songs. Visitors were always welcomed by music playing softly in the background, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
For over 25 years, she was an active and dedicated member of the Cincinnati Bid Whist Association. A highly skilled and professional card player, Dianne won more than 25 trophies and traveled across the country competing in tournaments. She was affectionally known within the card-playing community as **”Sister Will Bid,””** a name spoken with respect, admiration, love and a little bit of fear. Her sharp mind, competitive spirit, and sportsmanship earned her lasting friendships and a renowned reputation.
Although Dianne did not have children she showered each of her nieces and nephews with a love that went beyond words, offering guidance, protection, and comfort. As an aunt, she was intentional, present, and deeply invested in their lives. She celebrated their growth, corrected them with love, and stood beside them through every stage of life. She taught the importance of family, resilence, and laughter, often turning ordinary moments into treasured memories. Her love left an indelible imprint on their hearts.
Dianne’s life is a testament to faith, service, elegance, joy, and unconditional love. Her “spirit symbol” is an Angel: and she was a Guardian Angel to her family*.
Dianne leaves to celebrate her life her loving sisters; Brenda Ligons (preceded in death by Iradale Ligons), Brother, James Barry Lee (preceded in death), Delana Cureton (preceded in death James Cureton), Lynette Taylor, (preceded in death James Taylor), Peggy Orr (preceded in death Lindsay Orr), Jennifer McNeal (Kenneth McNeal), and Lori Fleming (Willis Fleming) along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
