Obituary

Barry Stewart Wilson was born to Thomas and Annie Wilson on April 29, 1955, in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Barry was the fourth of eleven children.  He graduated from Hughes High School in 1973.  Barry found Christ at an early age and joined Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorship of Dr. Elliott Cuff.  He routinely attended church until his health started to decline but always remained a loyal and faithful member.

To know Barry was to love him because he was highly respected and admired.  His cool demeanor and witty sense of humor allowed him to get along with lots of people.  While working at General Electric, Barry met the love of his life, Shelley.  They would marry on July 30, 1983.  And even after his passing, Shelley still claims Barry as her "forever husband."  Barry retired from General Electric in 2015 after 30+ years of service.

Barry was hard working and his attention to detail made his promotion in the Army National Guard to Rank E-9, no surprise.  Being a Rank E-9 made Barry the youngest Command Sergeant Major in the State of Ohio at that time.  Barry proudly served in the National Guard for 25 years.

Barry was a man that wore many hats.  He was a loving husband, a supportive brother, and an amazing father.  But one hat that he thoroughly enjoyed wearing was that of Coach.  Barry coached little league football for Western AA, high school football at Hughes High School, and Western Hills High School, and even did a season with the Little Highlander program.

Barry is survived by his wife, Shelley; children, Barry Lamont (Melissa), Karissa Hicks (Michael), and Kasi Jordan; 10 grandchildren, Darryn and Kamryn Jordan, Micah and Khloe Hicks, Barry, Jr., Tiana, Cortez, Malana, Alex, and Jazir Wilson; siblings, Thomas, Sharon (Clinton), and Valerie Wilson, Rodney, Anthony, and Kevin Stallings; brothers-in-law, Dr. Kenneth (Johnie) and Paul Davis; aunt, Barbara Norwood (Edward).

Barry was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Annie Wilson; his siblings, Mary Robinson, Teresa Wilson, Larry Wilson, and Gerald Wilson.
