“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”— 2 Timothy 4:7
With hearts full of gratitude to God, we celebrate the life and legacy of Mami Anna Ngwe Nyamusa, affectionately known as Abot Anna or Ann—a woman of deep faith, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to family.
Mami Anna was born on January 8, 1945, in Acha-Tugi Village, Northwest Region of Cameroon, to the late Muayang Eni and Pa Gahnye. She received her early education at Bafut Girls School, where the strong moral values that shaped her character were firmly rooted.
She was united in holy matrimony to Mr. M. N. Nyamusa, also of blessed memory. During her husband’s years of public service across West Cameroon, Mami Anna stood faithfully by his side as the backbone of the home—supportive, selfless, and resolute. In the mid-1970s, she endured a tragic motor accident that claimed the life of one of her twin babies and left her seriously injured. Through God’s sustaining grace and the support of family, she recovered and continued her life with renewed courage and resilience.
Blessed with many children, Mami Anna was a devoted and loving mother. As the first wife, she embraced the extended family with remarkable generosity of spirit and was fondly known as “Mother Number One.” Her home was a place of care, guidance, and unity. Choosing family above all else, Mami Anna declined a public service appointment to devote herself fully to caring for her husband and children. Over the years, she lived in Nigeria, Canada, and the United States, eventually becoming a dual citizen of Cameroon and the United States.
On January 24, 2026, Mami Anna was rushed to the hospital in Ohio, USA, following a severe headache. She peacefully answered the Lord’s call the following day, January 25, 2026, at the age of 81.
Mami Anna leaves behind her children, grandchildren, extended family, and countless loved ones who will forever cherish her legacy of faith, sacrifice, humility, and unconditional love.
May her gentle and noble soul rest in perfect peace.
