Obituary

Angela Linnette Floyd, affectionately known as "Angie," to family and friends, was born on January 31, 1966 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the union of Ralph and Betty (nee Mitchell) Floyd.  Angie departed this life on April 5, 2025, into the loving arms of The Lord.

Angie, the oldest of three daughters, accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by Rev. Earl L. Wagner, pastor of First Baptist Church of Kennedy Heights.  God blessed her with a beautiful singing voice, which she used to bless others throughout her life.  In her youth, Angie performed with First Baptist's Youth Choir.  As a teen, she sang with the Fellowship Interdenominational Chorale (F.I.C.), directed by Rev. Chuck Lyons.

She graduated from Walnut Hills High School in 1984 and attended The University of Cincinnati. She was united in marriage to Charles E. McClinon Sr. The couple was blessed with two sons, Charles Edward McClinon Jr. ("C.J.") and Ralph Matthew ("Buddy") McClinon, who preceded her in death.

Along with her passion for music, Angie loved to play bingo with her mother Betty; travel and to go out with friends.  She was also a huge fan of Wayne Brady's "Let's Make a Deal," game show and a faithful fan of The Cincinnati Bengals.  Angie, an excellent cook, also loved watching The Food Network and other cooking channels.

She worked for The City of Cincinnati for many years as a 911 operator.  She later worked for Cincinnati Children's Hospital in customer service.  She always had a smile for everyone, everywhere she went.  She loved her family, and she loved The Lord, even unto death.

She was preceded in death by her youngest son, Ralph "Buddy" McClinon; her father, Ralph Floyd; her maternal grandparents, Howard and Laura Mitchell and paternal grandparents, Frank and Eleanor Floyd.

Angie will forever be cherished by her son, Charles McClinon Jr. (Desirae Bowen); her mother, Betty Floyd; grandson, Elijah McClinon; her sisters, Anita (John) Burton, Tammi (Alan) Combs; nieces, Jasmine (Dewann) Thompson and Maya Floyd; nephew, Ricky Combs; great-niece and nephew, Zuri and Zahir Thompson.  She will also be dearly missed by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The family will forever love and cherish our time with her, and we know without a doubt, she is with God.  John 11:25-26 ~ I am the Resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he dies, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.
