Summer Taylor-Horton Obituary

Celebrating her Spirit
She was born on March 31 during the blizzard of 1978, one of the coldest days in Cincinnati history. But her tiny face, bathed in sunshine, inspired Loyce and David Taylor to name their baby daughter, "Summer." She departed this life suddenly on Jan. 5, 2018, leaving a legacy of love and inspiration to everyone she touched throughout her journey.
Summer, as she was affectionately called by family and friends, grew up in a large, loving, close-knit family of nine children. She was always the "glue" that held everyone together. She learned to walk and talk early and taught her brothers and sisters to do the same. She attended Corryville Catholic Elementary and Woodward High Schools. Summer, christened at Assumption Parrish, lit up a room with her energy and sunny outlook as a child. That magical quality followed her throughout her life.
She married the love of her life, Ronald L. Horton Jr., on May 2, 2001. The Hortons joined forces to raise 10 beautiful children. Summer, along with being an outstanding and devoted mother, was also a gifted entrepreneur. She and Ronald ran group homes, home health businesses, tax preparation, home remodeling, boutiques and hair salons. Summer was also passionate about loving and caring for others.
Summer opened her home to countless family members and children who needed a refuge, raising them as her own. Summer helped the young and old, the sick and destitute, and those with mental and physical health challenges. She brought joy and sunshine to those she touched with a giving spirit and a kind heart. Her husband, children and family will forever remember her as, "intelligent, fearless, outspoken, hardworking, an angel in disguise, a kindred spirit and a beautiful "gift" to the world.
She was preceded in death by her father, David Taylor; her maternal grandparents, Peggy and Isaac Page Sr.; paternal grandparents, Sadie Mae Wilkins and Devore Taylor Sr.; uncles, Devore Taylor Jr., Michael Page; nephews, Chris, Tyrone Drummond and Brandon Horton.
Her sweet, outgoing spirit will always be cherished by her husband, Ronald Horton Jr.; mother, Loyce Taylor; children, Paris, Landon, Lanez, Jhaila, Ronnieceya, Ronnie, Rondez, Ronald III, Ah'Marion, Gioni, special daughter, Yairiah, special son, Yairius and grandchild, Promisse. She will also be dearly missed by her mother and father-in-law, Ronald (Linda) Horton Sr.; her siblings, Stacey (Jason), Tyrone, Starr Mia, Mahogany (Harold), India (Dion), David, Alex and Lil' Tye (Keona); brother and sisters-in-law, Ronmeco (Donna); Dontae, Shawn (Tasha), Ondrae, Lemond, Rodney (Sapima), Normon, Brian and Cherly.
