Louise Catherine Coulter, 77, was born to the union of Ellen and Obe Garnett on June 5, 1936. She departed this life, surrounded by her loving sons, on July 1, 2013 to be with The Lord.
Louise was born in Addyston, Ohio, where she grew up with her two brothers and sister and attended school. After she graduated from Taylor High School, she went to work, holding a variety of jobs. A few years after graduating, she moved to Covington, Ky. and later to Cincinnati.
She met her future husband, Roy Coulter, a bass guitar player, at the Cotton Club. The couple soon married and their union was blessed with two sons, Anthony and Jeffrey Coulter. Louise worked a nurse's assistant at St. Elizabeth Hospital for 32 years. She retired in 1997 due to an injury.
Louise was a very vibrant woman. She worked hard throughout her life and rewarded herself with traveling with friends. She was a long-standing member of Golden Leaf Baptist Church and an active member of The Order of Eastern Star, the Missionary Society and the Ohio Southern Missionary Baptist Chapter. She was also an active member of the Evanston Community Center, where she participated in numerous activities.
As a mother, Louise was giving, loving and caring...but strict. She was a wonderful cook and earned a reputation for her macaroni & cheese and scallop potatoes. She was preceded in death by her parents, Obe and Ellen Garnett; husband Roy; siblings, Obe Garnett, Betty Duncan and Tommy Garnett.
Her loving memory will forever be cherished by her sons, Anthony and Jeffrey Coulter, both of Cincinnati; step-children, Doretha Henry and Leroy Jones. She also leaves eight grandchildren, Angela Charleston, Crystal Hunter, Devin Coulter, Erica Coulter, Jasmine Coulter, Christina Thomas, Jeffrey Coulter II and Brandon Coulter; 11 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
