Kevin Kinney Obituary
Kevin Damont Kinney was born to Wilbur Rushing and Sarah Kinney on January 25, 1952. He went home to be with The Lord on Oct. 7, 2014 in his home, surrounded by family.
Kevin grew up in Cincinnati and attended Withrow High School, where he excelled in wrestling. His wrestling skills attracted several colleges who sought him out. He graduated from C. A. Wilson Institute in Columbus, Ohio. For many years, Kevin spun records around the Cincinnati area and was known as the "Soulful Fly." He was also a master griller and loved to dance, often grabbing the love of his life, Geneva, for a dance around the house. Kevin had the ability to light up a room when he entered. He naturally drew people to him, for they too could see the light that radiated from him.
He was baptized on May 6, 1990 and graduated from Solid Rock classes in 2004 , finishing at New Life Temple. He married Geneva Crum on Sept. 27, 1991. He worked for several years as a self-employed contractor. He taught himself his trade, but learned electrical repairs from Eardly Nesbitt.
He was the proud father of Kristin Davis, Christina Hall, Egypt Thomas, Gabrielle Kinney and Samuel Kinney and the loving step-father of Hyacinth D. Tucker. He leaves his brothers, Juan and DeJong; sisters, YeVette and Quvadus. He was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Rushing. He was grandfather of 11 and loved by a host of other family and friends.
