Celebrating His Spirit . . . .
Craig Anthony Haskins was born on January 16, 1975 to the union of Margaret Rose and John E. Haskins Sr. in Cincinnati, Ohio. He departed this life suddenly on December 14, 2017 into the arms of The Lord.
Craig grew up in Cincinnati , the youngest of two sons. He attended Roger Bacon High School , graduating in 1994. He was an independent spirit and a strong individual who knew what he wanted from life --in spite of life-long health challenges. Craig overcame his challenges and never stopped working and pushing himself to achieve his goals.
He faced the diagnosis of a kidney transplant during his senior year of high school. Thanks to a donation from his brother, John Jr., Craig recuperated, graduated from high school and furthered his education at The College of Art Advertising Academy of Cincinnati. His art education opened the doors at Willis Music Co. , where he designed the covers for sheet music and advertising catalogues.
In 2006, Craig received a stem cell transplant from his brother John Jr. at Duke University Medical Center in an effort to fight the damages of Sickel Cell. A few years later he found the means to go back to school, enrolling in The University of Cincinnati, Blue Ash, where he obtained a Associates Degree in Graphics Art in 2015.
At the time of his passing, Craig was a student at Northern Kentucky University, working on a major in graphic communications design and a minor in Media Infomatics. His career goal was to work for a good company where he could grow and utilize his God-given artistic talent and training.
Craig was passionate about his art work, especially Japanese animation . He was also a gifted photographer, which was a key component of his major. From a young age, he collected transformers and focused his talents in a variety of art mediums. He thoroughly enjoyed working in his studio and networking with other artist at Pendleton and Essex studios.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Rose Haskins on March 27, 2017; his paternal grandmother, Catherine Williams; maternal grandfather, James Albert (Rose) Miller and aunt Barbara Ann Jones.
He leaves to cherish his memory his father, John Haskins Sr. of Cincinnati ; his brother, John Haskins Jr. of Troy, MI; his three aunts, Elaine Gilbert, Stella (George F.) Heard Sr., and Mary Miller, all of Cincinnati. His loving spirit will also be remembered by a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
