Bobbie Corbean Obituary
Bobbie B. Yates Corbean was born on Jan. 3, 1927 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the union of William Artist Yates, Sr. and Mary Rachel Hunt Yates. She departed this life to be with The Lord on Friday, March 21, 2014.
Bobbie grew up in Cincinnati and attended Cincinnati Public Schools. She graduated from Douglass Elementary and Withrow High School. She furthered her education at Talladega College in Alabama. At Talladega, Bobbie pursued her dream of becoming a teacher an earned her Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Elementary Education with a minor in French in 1948. She taught school for over 30 years and loved teaching at Rockdale and Kilgour Elementary Schools. She married Walter Corbean on Dec. 12, 1960 and their union was blessed with one son, Walt Corbean Jr.
She was a dedicated member of Walnut Hills Baptist Church and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and a precinct executive. She enjoyed attending St. Andrews Episcopal Church in her later years. Bobbie, who was a wonderful hostess, was also the guardian of the family's antique collectibles. She was known for her warm smile and caring, out-going personality. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Virginia Yates Goldsmith and brother, William Artist Yates Jr.
Her sweet spirit will always be remembered and treasured by her son, Walt Corbean Jr.; daughter-in-law Kathy and grandson, Trey J., whom she patiently waited to arrive for nearly eight years. She will also be dearly missed by her nephews and nieces, Meryl Yates Kinlow (Tom), William Greer Yates, Tyrone K. Yates, Delecia Jo Yates Roach, Michael G. Yates, and Daryl Carter. She will also be missed by a host of great nieces and nephews and dear friends and neighbors on Egan Hills Drive and in the community.
