Birdie Mae Heidelburg (Fant)was born on February 6th, 1943 to the late Wilton Fant and Janie Sylvene Fant (Gilliard) in Anderson SC. Mother Heidelburg attended school at Sandusky High school. Mother Heidelburg attended church at James Temple Church of God in Christ for over 50 years where she was a Mother of the church, along with other duties. She also attended Crossroads Oakley for over 10 years. Mother Heidelburg worked as an associate with for many years with Salvation Army and Village Thrift Store where she was known by many.
Mother Heidelburg was the cornerstone of our family! A true woman of God. She was loved by many and supportive of all. Mother Heidelburg was a devoted Christ Follower. She attended church every chance that was offered. Mother Heidelburg enjoyed traveling around the country. She enjoyed people watching, especially when she was on vacation. Mother especially enjoyed word search books and playing bingo games with her grandchildren.
Most people perceived mother as being extremely quiet; however, she had a secret side to her. Some of you had the opportunity to experience this. Once she got to know you, she was an open book with a wealth of knowledge. Mother Heidelburg was hilarious as you would never know what she was going to say or share on Facebook.
Mother Heidelburg was a member of the Acorn group where she actively protested, almost to be point of being arrested!! Yes Birdie Mae (Mother Heidelburg)!!
Mother Heidelburg was proceeded in death by her husband Leroy Heidelburg, her parents Wilton and Janie Sylvene Fant, her beautiful grandchildren Yoseph Hawkins and Key'Olvonte Heidelburg, her brothers Jamie Fant and John Fant and her baby sister Jacqueline Fant.
Mother Heidelburg is survived by her three siblings Terrie Bowens (Morris Bowens) of Trotwood, Roy Fant and Donald Fant of (Sandusky), six children, 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and a host of honorary children and grandchildren. Robert Heidelburg of (California), Tammy Blythe (John Blythe), Camille Heidelburg, Mark (Benita Jones) Heidelburg (Benita), Sherri Heidelburg (Eric Rowe), Regina Malone, Mozella, Chandrea, Adriane, Neflah, Shawanna, Kathy Jo, Deanna, Jack, Heather, Adam. Grandchildren Daveed, Shem'uel, Anthony, A'veed, Darche, Isaiah (Danisha), Jerome, Kamonta, Camika, Shamika, Jamarkus, Jaliyah, Dre'Anna, A'dianna, Markayla, Manila(Maggie) Michel'le, Kayla, Michael, Mekahale, Yael ,Courtney, Porsha, Ka'ron, Diamond, Debbie, Hannah, and Jacob. Great grandchildren Ca'myrah, Daveed Jr., Shemuel Jr., Isaiah Jr., Ketura, Davi, Mar'kel, Ashanti, Kayliss, Elijah, Jade, Jamil, My'awn, Jerome III, Jayden, Loving, Tatum, Avery, Adaylyn, Benson, Isra'el, London, KChristopher, Cameron, Jazre'el, and Skylar aka Skybaby.
