Obituary
Alice Watkins, 70, was born to the union of Lelve and Willie Ester Watkins on September 18, 1943 in Lapine, Alabama. She departed this life to be with the Lord on Oct. 14, 2013.
Alice grew up in Lapine, where she attended school in Montgomery County, graduating in the early 1960s. She gave her life to Christ at an early age, joining Sardis Baptist Church of Lapine, Alabama as a youngster. She later joined Corner Stone Baptist Church of Cincinnati.
Following graduation, Alice moved to Cincinnati to join he sister, Tommie. Her career included employment at US Playing Cards, where she worked as a sorter. She later worked for The Saturday Knight Co. and The Windup Corporation, located in Amberley Village, from which she retired. Alice loved to play cards and she was especially skilled at playing Pokeno and Bid Whist. She was blessed with an outgoing personality.
She was preceded in death by her parents and infant sister, Yvonne. Her memory will forever be cherished by her daughter Lashonda Casey; grandchildren, Ke-Juan Cummings, Kyle and Lyle Casey, Kevin, Kenneth, Rose, Kelly and Keno Lawry; brothers, Willie (Margaret) Watkins of Detroit, MI, Terry Watkins of Lapine, AL; sisters, Joanne(Eddie) Oliver of Columbus, GA., Mildred Watson of New Orleans; Dorothy Warner and Julia Martin of Bartow, FL and Tommie Lawrence of Cincinnati; a loving, devoted friend, Bettie Combs of Cincinnati; Godchildren, Neal and Maria Payle and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
