Celebrating His Spirit
Willie Joe Biggers was born on Feb. 4, 1937 in Clayton, AL to Sam and Nellie Biggers. Willie transitioned his time for eternity on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016 at The University of Cincinnati.
He moved to Cincinnati from Clayton as a youngster with his family. He met Jacqueline Jackson at a young age and the couple married in 1954. Willie dedicated over 60 years of his life to this union, which was blessed with eight children. His beloved Jacqueline preceded him in death on June 28, 2015.
Willie, who adored his family, loved gatherings with family and friendsв?¦anytime or place. He was a "genuine" man who could do just about anything. He was an avid fisherman, farmer, an excellent cook and a great fan of cooking shows. Willie ran a vegetable stand with his family at Finley Market for a number of years. He was employed by The City of Cincinnati until he retired in 1982.
In his spare time he loved to play the guitar, listen to talk radio and watch old country western shows. Willie Joe Biggers considered himself a "country" man and a cowboy (who had an extensive collection of cowboy hats).
He was preceded in death by his wife of 27 years, Jacqueline; his parents, Sam and Nellie Biggers; a granddaughter, Precious Biggers and sister-in-law, Teresa James and brother-in-law, Donald Jackson.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Pamela, Joy, Mark, Joelea, Todd, Lateska, Jacqueline K. and Samuel Biggers; siblings, Susie Biggers, sister-in-law Joyce Green, brother Daniel Jackson Jr. and Kenneth Jackson, all of Cincinnati; 22 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. His loving spirit will also be celebrated by a host of many, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
